JitBackup for Google Workspace

JitBackup is a self-hosted backup and recovery solution built specifically for Google Workspace. Through a single management console, you can easily set up protection policies, monitor jobs, browse historical snapshots, and restore data. Most importantly, you retain absolute control over where your backup data is stored.

How It Works

JitBackup securely connects to your Workspace domain using an authorized Google service account. It reads your selected data via Google APIs and writes it directly to storage completely controlled by your organization. We support backing up to:

• Local disks or Microsoft network shares
• S3-compatible object storage
• Microsoft Azure Storage
• Google Cloud Storage

Flexible Recovery & Exports

Every successful backup creates a recovery point you can browse by date. When disaster strikes or data is accidentally deleted, there's no need to restore an entire account—you can pinpoint and recover just the emails, files (including historical versions), contacts, or calendar events you need.

Additionally, you can export data directly to your local machine. Supported formats include EML for emails, original formats for Drive files, vCard for contacts, iCalendar for events, and JSON for tasks.

Designed for Teams

JitBackup lets you manage backup retention through custom policies to meet your compliance requirements. It also features role-based access control (System Administrators, Domain Administrators and Operators), allowing you to delegate routine backup or restore tasks to specific team members without handing over unrestricted system access.
