Why Can't I Add More Users or Use Shared Drives?
Open Overview > Backup & Subscription and read the current status and user allowance. The website purchase account, the license activated on this server, and your local console login serve different purposes.
What Can I Check During Trial?
Use the trial to configure your Workspace domain and storage, back up users within the displayed allowance, and test browsing, export, and recovery of those user backups.
Shared Drive backup and recovery are unavailable during trial. They require an active, activated paid license. Do not use the presence of a Shared Drives menu as evidence that your current license enables it.
Use the allowance and expiry shown in your installation when planning the evaluation. See First backup and daily checks for a practical verification sequence.
Why Does Saving the User Selection Fail?
The selected backup users must fit within the current allowance. Review existing selections across the configured domains, not just the organizational unit visible on the current page. Ask the subscription owner to check the allowance before enabling additional users.
Automatic backup of newly discovered users is also subject to the allowance. After adding employees, check that they are selected and have a successful first backup.
Do not unselect required users just to dismiss a limit message. Agree any scope change with the person responsible for company backups.
We Paid, but This Server Still Shows Trial or an Invalid License
Ask the purchaser to check the order email and the JitBackup website dashboard, then activate the issued license on the intended JitBackup server. A website payment and a local console login do not themselves confirm activation on that machine.
If activation fails, record the exact message and ask IT to check the server's connection to JitBackup. If the server was replaced or reinstalled, mention that when contacting support. Avoid making a duplicate purchase to troubleshoot an activation message.
Share an order reference and purchaser email through the support contact page when needed; do not post the license key in a public message.
What Happens When the Trial or License Expires?
New backups require a valid trial or active paid license. Check Overview for the reason backups are disabled, then verify a new backup after the subscription issue is resolved.
Recovery of existing user backups and Shared Drive recovery have different requirements. Read Can I restore without an active license? before making a renewal or recovery plan.
